Answers:

Q: How do I take a picture of my baby?
A: How to take a picture of your baby:

These are instructions on how to take a screen capture. These instructions are for Windows, I believe it's different for a MAC computer.

I'll write it out in steps to make it easier to follow.

Step 1. Go to the page you want to capture. Make sure what ever you want in the picture, is showing on the screen.

Step 2. Look for the key on your keyboard that says "Print screen" or "PrtSc" on some laptops and press it.

Step 3. Open up any image program. Like Paint, Photoshop, PhotoPlus, Gimp or I use IrfanView which is super easy.

Step 4. Paste down the image you have captured. Either press the "ctrl" and "v" keys on your keyboard or look for the paste option in the menus of the program... usually under the "edit tab"

Step 5. Then save the image, as either a JPG or PNG file

You would then have to upload it to a website like Photobucket or Tinypic, I like Tinypic because you don't need an account and it's fast to upload one or two files here or there. Then you can send me the pictures and it will save a lot of time.

Q: What program do you use to create your portraits?
A: My program:

I primarily use Adobe Photoshop 7.0, it's a fairly old program by today's standards and the version I have is no longer available for purchase.

Q: Are there any free programs I can use to create portraits?
A: Yes.

I recommend both GIMP and PhotoPlus. Both are completely free to use only PhotoPlus requires you to register your copy... this is done by email after installing the program.

You can download GIMP here: http://www.gimp.org/downloads/

You can download Serif PhotoPlus here: http://download.cnet.com/PhotoPlus/3000-2192_4-10183726.html

Q: How do you make your backgrounds?
A: I draw them.

I have created all of the frames I offer. All of them were drawn by me using the brushes, shapes and filter effects available in Photoshop. There are many different brushes and shapes available for download that you can add onto programs like GIMP and Photoshop.

Q: How do you make your frames?
A: I draw them.

I have created all but one of the frames I offer. The one wood frame is a real frame that was turned into a digital image and cut out by someone else, I downloaded it. All the rest were drawn by me using the brushes, shapes, styles and filter effects available in Photoshop.

Q: Can you explain how to make portraits?
A: As of right now, no.

It's not something that takes a couple of minutes to explain. It would require me to write a complete tutorial which is difficult when everyone is using different programs. It would also be very time consuming, so as of right now I have no plans to do so. In the future though, it's something I will consider doing.

Q: How do I put the portrait on my page/card?
A: There are two ways.

To place the image on yout page you can either use HTML mode and copy and paste the piece of HTML code I send into your page editor while in HTML mode.

Or you can right click your mouse on the URL link of the image that I send and select "Copy Shortcut". Then go your page and choose to modify. Look for the button that looks like this along the top edit options:
Click that and then in the box that shows up, there is a line that has "http://" written in it. Erase what's in it, then right click inside that space where the "http://" was written and choose "Paste". Then just save your presentation.
